GIA – Making the Cut
Earlyer this year, the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) published an article featuring renowned artists in the field of gam-artistry.
It is always a pleassure and an honor to be recognized by the GIA for ones work.
To quote fromt he article:
“concave facet acts as an internal convex mirror to produce reflected rays from more directions within a gemstone….’“Strong contrast makes a gemstone appear brighter and more appealing … Scintillation is more dynamic when there is strong contrast between adjacent virtual facets,’ according to Al Gilbertson, a research associate at GIA”
This GIA article by Sharon Bohannon manages to create a contemporary and succinct snapshot of the current state of this artistic scene.
